The Orange County Transportation Authority Board of Directors have approved this morning bus service reductions that will reduce 150,000 hours of service beginning in March.
The plan will reduce frequent bus service and eliminate various routes.
Most notable will be the weekday elimination of OCTA bus routes 62, 74, 75, 131, 147 and 164.
The OCTA says the cuts were necessary to make up for major cuts in state funding and significant drops in sales tax revenue and fare revenue as the transportation agency faces an projected $330 million shortfall in the next five years.
