The News Wire is monitoring an developing story outside of Southern California. On Tuesday night American Airlines' flight 331 from Washington, DC to Kingston, Jamaica, after an layover at Miami International Airport, skidded off the runway at Norman Manley International Airport and broke in two after the pilot overshot the runway.
The airplane stopped just three feet from the water.
At least 40 people were reported injured.
